What's the Difference Between Powdery Mildew and Bud Rot?

Powdery Mildew : Powdery mildew appears as a white, powder-like coating on the surface of leaves and stems. It's a fungal infection that spreads visibly across a plant, particularly in conditions with poor air circulation and high humidity.

Bud Rot (Botrytis)  : Bud rot develops inside dense flower clusters, where airflow is weakest. Unlike mildew, it's often invisible from the outside and only becomes apparent once a bud is opened by which point it has usually spread further than it appears.

How Do You Prevent Mould and Rot?

Improving airflow and air circulation is the single most effective way to prevent both mildew and rot, since stagnant, humid air is what allows fungal spores to establish.
